The Force Unleashed Executive Producer Leaves LucasArts
Haden Blackman, the executive director producer and writer on The Force Unleashed, has reconciled from LucasArts to "explore new constructive challenges."
Blackman worked on numerous Whiz Wars games during his 13-year vocation at LucasArts before taking the reins arsenic the executive manufacturer and lead writer on the 2008 hit Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, for which and his team won a Writers Guild of USA award. He returned to the role for The Force Unleashed 2, which makes his departure a trifle of a storm, only he told IGN that it's bu time to move along.
"I've had a howling metre working with the team at Lucasfilm and am really grateful for their ongoing support," he said. "While the conclusion to leave LucasArts did not happen overnight or amount easily, I real spirit that now is the best time for me to move on and explore current creative challenges and I look impertinent to the next stage of my career."
It was just last week that Blackman was talking up The Force Unleashed 2, referring to it as a "big Star Wars event" even as helium admitted that whatever premature Star Wars videogames haven't genuinely been awake to snuff. "We are so paranoid most tarnishing Star Wars," he said at the time. "We want to make every game every bit good A contingent, but it doesn't always forg out that way."
Despite Blackman's prominent persona, a LucasArts rep said his going won't regard the development of the raw game. The Force Unleashed 2 is presently slated for release on October 26 for the Microcomputer, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.
